Barnacle has had a tough time of it. He and his siblings, Coral and Reef, were found on Shek O beach in rather a state, with a horrible skin condition and were later found to have tick fever, which sadly claimed Reef's life. However, he spent a while in foster and is now in perfect health.

Barnacle and his sister are rather unique looking dogs by Hong Kong standards – they’re not your typical Hong Kong Specials! He’s rather a shy boy, but beneath his wariness you can tell he does want to socialise and be around people as he likes to follow you around, it just takes him some time before he’s comfortable letting someone new stroke him. However, once he's decided to trust you Barnacle really enjoys a fuss and lots of treats will definitely speed this process along! He is a sweet boy beneath his shyness and still very young, he just needs someone with the time and patience to put into him.
