Reuben

(M)

18 months as of  March 2020

Reuben is a pretty looking dog who has had a bit of a rough start. He was adopted as a pup but later returned through no fault of his own - due to his owners moving - and hasn't settled into shelter life well. He finds the shelter, with all the noise and other dogs, worrying and is deeply attached to Jane, who lives at the shelter. Jane can attest to the fact that once he bonds with you, he is a very lovely, loyal boy. All he really needs is someone willing to put the time and effort into building up his confidence, both in interacting with people and other dogs, and creating a bond with him.

Reuben loves to be out and about, going on walks and trips to the beach. Outside of the shelter he is so, so much happier and it's really a joy to see him racing around and having fun.

Reuben is a dog in desperate need of a second chance - he just isn't able to thrive in a shelter environment. He needs time and patience to settle with new people and in a new environment, therefore, we think it best that he go to experienced dog owners with no young children. We all really hope he finds his special people soon.
